Besides that, having a lot of bandwidth available makes hosting your own server easier, as more connections can be made simultaneously without a loss in speed. I have 120 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload at home and would not mind an even faster connection.
DOCSIS 3.1 is the current iteration of the telecommunications standard known as Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification, or DOCSIS. The ping value is always less than 20 ms because it doesn't connect to any third party speed test servers overseas. I ran Speedtest.net from my Lenovo Win 10 64bit Laptop with the MS Edge Browser. NIC card is Qualcomm Alteros QCA61x4A and I first updated the NIC Driver. Wireless speed on this laptop is now +/- 400 Mbps download and +/- 400 Mbps upload running a few feet away from the R8300 Router and much more acceptable. Thanks for your suggestion. Just updated service with Spectrum 200 Mbps. They send me new modem. Still have WNDR 3400 v1, wondering why not getting speed. Test showing around 70-95 mbps. Firmware is latest. Do i have to get new router
Client tells me speed is slow - test speed using both Speedtest and Spectrum ( he is a Spectrum customer ). Tests are about 80MB short of the 100 he is supposed to have. Call tech @ Spectrum - they state a modem test verifies the 100 to the modem - for grins I detach the cable from notebook to wireless router and cable direct to modem - I
